I've had SW tank for years but my experience was limited to what my local aquarium salesperson taught me. I recently purchased a JBJ Nanocube 28G Quad and successfully transplanted my fish (psuedo, clownfish, hermits, brittle star, cucumber and sand snails) and about 12lbs of live rock. At the time a sales person told me it was fine to put in huma huma trigger. Long story short- All my fish died along with the cucumber.
I finally did my research- performed 2 water changes, changed all media, and started to cycle my tank. i purchased yesterday a bottle of ammonia. How much ammonia should I put in? Also a hooked up a fluval 306 to the tank- why? it seemed like a good (noob) idea.
Also should I turn my Back chamber into a Refug? Any Ideas?

Thank you ahead of time!

I was told this is the humane way to cycle your tank without torturing any animals
I've never personally used it so I don't have much knowledge with ammonia so sorry I can't help there.

So how's the tank looking? How long has it been cycling since the die off?

i got my ammonia to 4ppm and after 4 days its zero but my nitrites are 0 and nitrates are 5. i'm going to do a 20% wc today. salinity is 1.024, temp is 79-80 degrees. i'm thinking of throwing in a fish for extra cycling help. I shut off the lights cause of algae growth. Thanks for asking.

Cool. Sounds like you're on track.

What is your lighting setup? Excited to see/hear about your progress.

It's the Quad Nanocube by JBJ. My friend is moving so I put his Damsel in my tank. He looks like he's doing well- except I noticed a white spot on his tail. Ick? I'll post up a pic later today.
