hermits shedding skin

Well I didn't know they did that!!! I came down this morning to find what I thought was a dead crab, but no! I still have two. All it had done was to shed it's skin. As an aside, how many turbo snails could I have in my 12g nano? I have two crabs and three turbo's at the moment

Yep, hermits molt like any other crab or shrimp. It's just they don't need to grow a new main shell, they steal that :mrgreen:
I understand turbos can get rather large, one is probably enough for a 10 gal. I'd get rid of two and replace them with trochus or tectus, which do the same job, for variety.
