Okay, I just looked at my tank and the LS is starting to turn brown? As if it were getting a tan ha,ha,ha but what is it, an algae? Do I need more circulation or more clean up crew? Thanks

Thanks Sadie... This is for a 20 gallon long now... I think I'm going crazy with saltwater tanks. I put 3 blue legs but I think my trigger ate one? Is that possible? I have a skimmer coming in the mail for more circulation too. I bought the trigger and it had a cloudy eye? I heard to put it in r/o water with a little saltwater so there wouldn't be any shock for 3-10 minutes. If any one can suggest anything else please help. Thanks
yes trigers will eat your crabs .... it could be popeye with out pic hard to say more likely a truama related injury best treated with High water quality and a stress free calm enviroment

Sadie... Thankd for the reply. No the eyes aren't that bad. It's just cloudy, it doesn't stick out nor does it have anything on it. Its just cloudy.
Skip, thanks for the heads up. Will the trigger eat bristle worms? And is it compatible with a blenny thats probably twice or 1.5 bigger than him? Thanks I might ave to swtich him to another tank. Just got the skimmer last night and just installed it. I'm gonna tank pics and post them on both tanks. :lol3:

He may or may not attack other fish they can be a bit unpredictible
as for the eye just keep an eye on it no pun intended keep water quality up and it should go away it could be the start of popeye but most likely is an abrasion from packing (trauma) and should heal on its own :mrgreen:

Just got back today and one of my clowns is dead :evil: Can anyone verify if the trigger can do this? The trigger is probably two times bigger! If so I want to transfer him to my other tank. Please help anyone, plus do triggers eat bristle worms? Thanks

I forgot to ask... I just installed a skimmer how long should it be before any skim shows up? Its in a new tank so I think there wouldn't be much... Please inform me, thanks
Yes that is a very real possibilty that the trigger took the clown out and chances are that he in fact did take him out ..Trigger fish are very agressive fish that are only good for FOWLR and alone as they are an agressive fish so set him up in a species only tank .... with out knowing what trigger fish you have I cant say for sure but triggers are known to munch on bristleworms
Im sorry, I think i missed the size of this tank with the trigger...how big is it? How big is the trigger and what kind is it?
These are generally agressive fish, some of which arent really "reef-safe". Is this a FOWLR tank or a reef?

Jesse, its a 20 gallon long and the its a Duleant Trigger something like that. He's only and 1.5/2 inches. I have been watching him for an hour and he never attacked any other fish in the tank. I'm going to put him by himself with the Bristle worm tank. Oh yeah, its a FOWLR but its in process of being a reef tank. So the triggers about to go....

Return the trigger they need a 100 gallon or larger and they become meaner as they age ....they also have teeth and are known to nip/bite the hand that comes in to clean and mantain the tank ....I think that the trigger you have may be

Its been awhile but here new pics....
Hello everyone bye1: Its been awhile since I posted some pics of my 4 gallon nano. I have been reading everyones posts and gaining more knowledge . Since I've been away, I turned my 20 gallon long to a reef tank and traded my cichlid. Its an interesting setup but it makes me happy, I guess I have both worlds. One side its setup as a frag tank and the other a reef. Just take a look... I want to get comfortable before jumping into a 50+ tank and spending more than enough money!

Yes you are first! I'm in the middle of trying to cut down on my smaller tanks and either up grade to a bigger tank. But once I get things going we can trade if possible if not not problem... The polyps I have right now are all okay, I just compare them to the "Zoo crazy" and they don't compare. Anyways, I'll PM you when I get more frags going.... Thanks

Island just remember you are doing FINE ....it takes time I am still working out the kinks on my system ......I have to say that it looks like you are starting to learn the ins and outs and very well I might add.....I like your frag tank the way you have it set up is very nice indeed :mrgreen:
