Hello all. I have been reading the forums for several years, don't post much. I find that I can usually get my answers from searching and reading.
My tank is about 3 years old, and is a Red Sea Max 34G. The lights are new and the conditions test good.
I have 3 fish - a blue damsel, a 6 line, and a clarkii. I have a handful of hermit crabs and snails. I have a coral banded shrimp, a sally lightfoot crab, and a green serpent starfish.
I keep a handful of Zoas, a Duncan, a toadstool, and another coral I forgot the name of.
Several months ago the Zoas started to disappear I can't get them to grow back.
Dark red blotches started to appear - I asked about these and I was told it was velvet sponge?
What looks like black encrusting sponge started appearing in some spots.
I have attached pictures.
I need advise how to resolve - do I need to recycle rocks? Do I need to scrap and start over? Is there a fungus on the Zoas?
Please advise.
