:bash1: How Do I uprade My lighting like yours? (61 watts)
:banadance: Today I bought a RIO pump (200gph)..Is this a good pump?
:eusthink Because someone said to get the MINIJET606 which is (159gph)
:scratchchin: But I figured why not get one that pumps more water...
:confused3: I also bought PurPLe-Up..
:confused I didn't buy a SURFACE SKIMMER...because the guy at the petshop was like.."Why do you need that?...do you have a lot of algae?" n' I was like "No.."...and so I didn't buy one..
:yay Soo far I have been CURING My rocks for 4 days...wOo-hOo!
I got my upgrade from Nanocustoms. (was alright then, but I hear it's getting better, craftsmanship wise at least)
I hear another website does upgrades that I'd look into, I think their site was "http://marshreef.com/" (I saw some member on here, and it did look really nice, and cleanly made up)
If you do go with nanocustoms, be sure to upgrade your fans to some 50x50x10 ball bearing fans (get them at Fry's electronics) The ones that come with the upgrade suck and will fail.
Good fans are very important if you are to keep the temperature down, because with the lighting upgrade, the temperature of the tank can go up quite high without adequate cooling. I can proudly say with upgrading my fans, they have consistently stayed at 78 degrees.
As for the pump to use, the one that gives out more GPH is also giving out more wattage which equals more added heat to the water. The mini-jet 606 seems to be low heat, and gives a good amount of flow.
As for the surface skimmer, yes do get one, they are the cheapest thing you'll buy. Best of luck!
