They have had electrical issues with some of them so they are not a sure thing either. Going with a standard glass aquarium is probably the safest way to go and it may be a little cheaper in the long run as well.

:anxious OK...So I went back to the store today..and they couldn't give me my money back so they gave me another 6g nano...hopefully this one won't crack like the last one...instead of putting it on my 5 drawer dresser...I put this tank on this 2 drawer table near my bed...I hope nothing goes wrong.

When I bought the tank at the store and set it everything up in my house there was nooooo crack at all...but later when I left and came back THAT was when I saw a crack....the owner of the store said it was because of "too much pressure"...whatever though, if this new tank cracks on Me like the last one did then I want My money back for sure...Or I'll just keep taking all their tanks n' watching them crack..

I agree, go ahead and add some. I don't know that they will help but they shouldn't hurt anything. I don't think you will get much coraline until after you have lights on the rock which you don't want until they have cured or you risk a nasty algae bloom.

babiiguhurll:

I have the nanocube 6. It's a great cube, and I'm happy you have one. Feel free to hit me up whenever if you need further advice.

The first part of the setting up a 6er is just having patience, and getting all the necessary things first before anything else.

the upgraded pump is a great idea for the extra flow (2006 cube should give a nice pump that should do the trick)

With your LR, you can go with nice exotic pieces, (go small, as it's real easy to get too much)

LS, aragonite, a nice fine sand should do real nice.

Get a surface skimmer, that does wonders for keeping the top water from getting all "scummy"

Before I go with more, be sure to check out the other posts of other people's setups.....you'd be amazed by how much you could do with the 6er.

:iill Ok...so since I'm curing My Rocks...you guys say:

:pills I should add the Calcium Liquids...or the powder with the Freshwater.

:fu Don't turn on lights until rocks are cured to stay away from ALGAE

:maitre Upgrade My pump to a MINIJET 606 (159gph)

:gcool And get a Surface Skimmer

:strip Hmm doing all that I'd be fine and just have to wait till my rocks are cured right?

Thats about it. You can turn your lights on for a bit if you want to look in the tank but keep them off the rest of the time.

once you add the surface skimmer.....keep a close eye on your top off water.

has to be done more often, because your back three chambers become your sump.....

:poisson DRAGON79,

:bash1: How Do I uprade My lighting like yours? (61 watts)

:banadance: Today I bought a RIO pump (200gph)..Is this a good pump?

:eusthink Because someone said to get the MINIJET606 which is (159gph)

:scratchchin: But I figured why not get one that pumps more water...

:confused3: I also bought PurPLe-Up..

:confused I didn't buy a SURFACE SKIMMER...because the guy at the petshop was like.."Why do you need that?...do you have a lot of algae?" n' I was like "No.."...and so I didn't buy one..

:yay Soo far I have been CURING My rocks for 4 days...wOo-hOo!

the only thing you need a surface skimmer for is to keep the surface of your water clear of sludge, dust, or anything else that accumilates on top. doesnt have anything to do with algae.....
