Hey I just bought a 6g Nano and I was wondering..

How do I increase the watts in my tank?

Should I replace the pump with a better one?

What kind of powerhead (if I should get one) should I get?

What should I buy (and how many) to clean my tank?

Hope you guys can help me out !

ok .... everyone updates the pumps with a Minijet 606 but i knew for sure that models 2006 had a really powerful pump better than the one i mentioned and there is also maxijet 900 the one im gonna used to update my minijet 606 of my 12gnano cube but i guess that will be to much GPH for you... anyways if your talking about cleaning crew i recommend

4-6 small nassarius snails (for airation of the sand and will clean fishies poop)
3-5 Nerite snails for cleaning glass and rock
2 or 3 blue leg hermits for left overs of food or for dead stuff

ohh forgot most important before adding any cleaning crew wait for your cycle to be done you will need just LR & LS and for better syste take out bio rings carbon and ball on the second chamber and replace all that with LR rubble and chemi pure ( a better kind of carbon) and in first chamber 2 sponges is more than enough and dont forget to rinse them every water change.....and do it weekly.

Thanks for the Cleaning Crew Suggestion...How about the lighting? Should I get a better bulb for my 6g tank? It comes with a 18 watt 50/50 bulb. I'm planning to make My tank a Reef Tank.

sorry but im trying to be good in all areas but in lighting i suck dont know for sure but you can check some great mods on lighting on nano cubes at NANOTUNERS.COM

OIC's...Well thanks for being very helpful.. Do you have any pictures of your fishtank? I'm going to set up my fishtank tomorrow. I bought it today and I'm thinking about how I should arrange My rocks.

Welcome aboard......You will have a beauty tank, if, you take your time and listen to the good people on this board.

It's much too early to even think about fish yet.....

Mix your salt water, add your sand and live rock.....

Get a good set of test kits and then sit back, while your tank cycles.....

You have plenty of time to think about what is going to go in next and everyone here will be around to help you, every step of the way.

First :welcome

If your handy with your hands and have an imagination for installation it shouldn't be too hard. I'm a ebay shopper and look for deals rather than go to a LFS. Yeah you do have to wait but as long as you save a descent amount it should be worth it. You'll save on lights guarenteed!!! :lol3:

I think this light would be great!!!! Hoping it would fit, thats the drawback! Have fun but be patient and read the forum.....

13 inch light won't fit in a nano cube 6.....

I think you have to stick with the 18watt pc and add as many as two extra.

Yeah...I will agree....if prices out your way are like they are here in NC...You can browse your LFS (local fish store..took me a while to figure that out) to get ideas and see things in person, but its definately cheaper to buy online. Ebay...is probably better for the more experienced reefers...but mail order is definately tons cheaper than buying any equipment from your LFS...

Just a simple example...when I started my tank, I forgot to get a heater so I went to the LFS for one and it was 35 bux...I bought it from fostersmith for 12...and felt good about paying 8 bux shipping...

all the goby's look amazing and with alot of personaliny and the watchman is a good choice a really nice yellow and at beggining will hide but eventually he will get used to you and fear you less ....and other gobies there are alot i keep some and i wish i could keep more but i got more than my limit.... :oops:
