help before it gets the boot !!!!!!

ok my tank si a 20g ,its been runing for about 2 month now with some live
rock in it , i also have some turbo snails and hermit crabs in the tank for about a month now ,ok my problem is i got my self a skimmer (prizm red sea) . all iam geting in the collection cup is diluted foam , i have tryed the flow regulator but with no joy the cup will fill up with tank water in about 2 hours , i have tryed to close the regulator but it dose not skim as much and some time stops .

can any one help me out ?? :anxious

set it so it is barely skimming anything and let it go for a few days . it will skim better after it gets broke in(when the riser gets slimey). good luck

I haven't used a Prizm before so I can't offer much help but it is a fact that skimmers do not perform properly until they break in. During break in they have to shed themselves of traces of chemicals used in their manufacture. If the skimmer hasn't been on the tank long then maybe this is where your problem lies. Try riftlakers suggestion and let us know how things work out for you.

ok i have trying riftlaker suggestion ,i have closed the flow regulator just enogh that water can still get through but iam still geting diluted foam witch iam puting back in the tank from the cup ,,but ill leve it like this for a week to see if it works
