Has anyone made 'legs' for Coralife 18W 9"

I've got several of these from doing pico freshwater planted tanks. I'm now wanting to do a 2.5G saltwater, and I want to make sure the heat doesn't go over the top. Has anyone made legs for these? I used thread spools before, but they looked rather primitive.

Yup, Jesse, that'd be the one. It doesn't have the mounting grooves the larger units do, and they're required for those legs.

drty811, I'm trying to avoid excess heat. For that size tank they put out a considerable amount. I should be able to cobble together something, but it's gonna be in an office setting, and looks will be important.

You could take a piece of acrylic that is as wide as the tank but longer and heat it and bend the ends so that they rest on the frame of the tank only on the ends and then place the light on top of this, the acrylic would be kinda like an arch or upsidedown U if you can picture what I am talking about.

You could also cut a pair of wooden legs for the ends and screw them to a piece of plexiglass the same way. You would need a piece of acrylic as long as the tank and then screw the wood to the ends. I would think the acrylic alone would look cleaner though.

i have a four legs from another light fixture, if you want them ill send them to you. you could modify them and glue them or something. i think the legs came from an orbit fixture, they are smaller than the coralife ones and they are black.
