Hey guys...long time no lurk
It's been awhile since I have been here and I'm in need of some help. My tank is 1.3 years old. For the past couple of months I have had a huge hair algae outbreak. It started with a couple of small pieces that never really grew for the past year then all of a sudden it was popping up out of every crack and crevice.
This tank is a 29 gallon tank, with a 4-5" sand bed. I am running a Fluval 305 filter with 3 trays of carbon, 1 tray of phosguard, 1 tray of ceramic rings and 1 tray of super fine filter floss. I am getting new lights tomorrow (I changed out my first set of lights about 4-5 months ago with some that only had 6mo life on them)
My ammonia, nitrate, nitrites and phosphates all read 0. I purchased a lawnmower blenny but he won't touch the hair algae. Since it is growing in very hard to reach places, I would like to find something that will actually eat it. Any ideas on what I can do?
