they say 1pd-1 1/2pd per gallon. same goes for sand.

i personally have 15pds LR and 15pds sand.

6pds will work cause when you end up getting corals, they will be attached to rock.

the second pic is a group of purple tip anenomes

yea what erik said is the general "rule of thumb" for sand and rock but if you are patient 6 will be fine as you will add more rock as you add corals cause each will come with a piece
the choices at this stage will be overwhelming - but anemones like you pictured are out of the question just yet - they are very hard to keep alive - and by the time you buy them they are already stressed beyond recovery
research and ask questions before you buy though OK??? we will help you
cool shots of your visit to the pet store though......

.... yeah this hobby is quite expensive and with the right moves you can make it like for example for christmas ask the closest person to you to give you as present some nice lighting for your tank and then you're set to buy corals and well just save save and save$$$ and i bet you could get a coral every month or so.... just have to be patience and know how to spend your money...

That purple tip is a condylactis anemone. One or of the more hardier species. However anemones require a bit of know how and very high lighting.
As for corals, as everyone has already said, be patient. I would suggest looking for a local marine aquarium club in your area. That would be a great place to start looking when you do decide to add corals.
