Again, very nice pictures. It just frustrates me to no end to live in BFE. The red on the sandbed, is that cyno? Noticed that at TFH too before Christmas.

Ok, I just have to ask, Brian, what is that in your avitar?

Yep in a couple of the tanks there appeared to be a little bit of cyano on the sandbed in the front of the tank. Basically if they put a powerhead or two in the tanks facing that direction it would be gone.

What's TFH?

My avatar right now is a macro crop of my RBTA...Actually taken from the same pic that my other RBTA avatar is from. One's just the whole pic shrunken down, the other is just a section cropped from the middle of the tentacles.

TFH, Tropical Fish Haven in Corpus Christi. They seems to be a little high on prices, but everything is very healthy. Due to schedules, I only get up there once in a blue moon. Right before Christmas I was in there and was going to treat myself to something nice, and there cyno all over the sandbeds :? . I just couldn't make myself take the chance on bringing that into my tank, so I left empty handed :x .

Cyano is really easy to deal with...More flow will usually get rid of the problem. If it's on the sand bed you can just siphon it out. There's also a product out that I've used a few times called chemi-clean. It comes in a small white bottle for about $15. It has a tiny spoon and it doesn't take much to treat a tank. I haven't seen any adverse reactions from corals, anemones, octopus, or fish. But the cyano sure doesn't like it. It took out my minor bloom within 48hrs or so.

I've never made it down to Corpus before. I may try sometime this summer for a long weekend. Are there any other fish stores down there worth hitting? I haven't hit any of the stores in Dallas, or San Antonio either, just here, and in Austin so far.

Other than TFH, I believe that Petco has started to carry a few corals, but haven't been there to see for myself. As far as I know those are the only two.

If anyone has some spare time and wants to do some shopping for me, give me a hollar. With any luck they will still have one of those small brains available  .
