Ok, I'm finally getting around to setting up a new nano. I'm working on the stand now. Anyway, this tank is going to be an sps only tank with one or two low bioload fish. It'll be a 15g. high, BB, MH lighting, Remora skimmer, LR or course, and thermoelectric chiller. Even though it's going to take a while to cycle and even longer to stabilize enough for my sps frags, I'm trying to decide what kind of fish to put in there. So, let's hear some fishy ideas from the nano experts! Any suggestions are more than welcome. :smile:

How about a couple of citron gobies or something of that nature. I'm really enjoying my 6-line wrasse these days in my 20 gal. Your 15 might be a little too small though for one.

In a 15 you've got enough room to have a variety of fish that will do well in it. Nearly any clown. Most gobies or blennies, as long as they're not the sand-sifting varieties. Maybe a six-line wrasse. A basslet, or dottyback would work. If you have some ideas of the fish you are interested in folks could probably tell you what would be appropriate in inappropriate and why.
Yeah, I'm back. Been working 16 hour days for what seemed like forever. It's good to get back to a normal routine and get a new tank started. I'll try to get some pictures up when I get something good to show. Yes, this tank is going to house small developing colonies of wild colorful sps and sps frags. Something different you know. It's going be very turbulant in there, so the fish must be up to being swept around some. LOL! I been thinking, what about a Pacific Candy Basslet (Liopropoma Swalesi), maybe a couple of yellow or blue Assessors (Assessor Flavissimus and A. Macneilli), since they are small and don't fight, a pair of Orchid Dottybacks(Pseudochrochromis Fridmani), or a Flame Hawkfish (Neocirrhites Armatus), would keep the snail population down, LOL! or a single Fu Manchu Lionfish Dendrochirus Biocellatus), although they don't ship great I hear. Has anyone had experences with any of these? Tell me what you think?

The Fu Manchu is probably not a good idea. In that small a tank with a heavy current I think it'll have a hard time being blown around. I've had both a regular dwarf, and a fuzzy dwarf, and neither seemed to like it much near the high current portions of the tank they were in. If you can find a pair of orchid dottybacks they'd probably do well, and they certainly add color to a tank. I don't have any experience with the assesors, so hard to say. I think the hawkfish would be a good choice as well, they've got a ton of personality.Hillbilly said:

I like you, think the Flame is looking like a good choice. They like the strong current, don't have a swim bladder so they set around a lot, rolling those big eyes around looking. I'm still open for ideas though. Since I can only put a single fish or a couple of small ones in there, it's important for me to make a good choice.
I had a neon, (or arabian) dottyback for awhile that I really liked. His color was spectacular and he had a very inquisitive attitude. Unfortunately he got fairly aggressive so I had to trap him out.

Dottybacks are known for aggressive behavior to be sure. The Arabians are very beautiful though. A mated pair should be cool . I thought about wrasses, but I'm not sure which ones need sandbeds. Lots to consider. Guess it's a good thing it will take a while to set up and cycle out.
