Final Question before purchase...

Really - I know this past week was procrasinators week, but it's over now. I have to buy!
Many thanks to you all for your input, it was of course invaluable.

I will purchase either a 12 gallon Nano-Cube or a 12 gallon AquaPod.
Both seem good choices but with a $60 price difference (Nano more expensive)I want to get the best value for money.
The only thing that bothers me about the AquaPod is that it only has one cooling fan whereas the Nano has 2 - I understand that the cfm is important but I can't find the specs anywhere. My LFS has a 24 gallon Aquapod at home and mentioned leaving the hood up to keep the tempreture down??

As usual your input is greatly appreciated... Geoff aka Diger

Hi Geoff,
I have 2 Nanocubes and I have looked at the Aquapod. IMO the Pod isn't quite as well built, the feed door is small and hinged cheaply (it was wobbly and it binded on the one I looked at), when I raised the entire hood assembly it made a loud popping noise. It does have a built in surface skimmer where the cubes is an add on, filtration basically the same on both. I don't know about the return pump and the lighting is 6 additional watts (3 on each bulb) but if I were doing it again and had to choose between the 2 I think I would still lean towards the Nanocube. Get the '06 model if possible because some of the common upgrades are already taken care of. Good luck.
