Filter / waterflow question

I am not sure what size tank I am going to setup, either a 10 or 20 gallon, still to be decided. My question is, I am planning on starting out with a HOB filter and I am wondering if this will provide enough waterflow. I know that the turnover rate will be way more than enough but will the water movement be there? I am going to use one of the AquaClears, either the 110 (500gph) or the 70 (300gph). They can be turned down and I can switch out a smaller impeller to cut the flow even more if needed. I am just wondering if a small powerhead should be used for more current or will the turnover rate provide enough? The main reason I am going with this size filter is because I want to eventially turn it into a HOB fuge and the 110 is a huge filter, espscially on the back of a 10 gallon tank. Inhabitants of the tank will be CUC of course with a pair of sexy shrimp and perhaps a pair of clowns and soft corals, mostly shrooms and polyps. Everything will be done in stages and slowly of course and I know that 2 clowns will tax the bioload in a 10 gallon tank but there will be plenty of biofiltration available and also that is the reason I want to create the HOB fuge at some point. I guess when the time comes for the HOB to start doing fuge duties the flow will have to be greatly reduced anyways so that the water passing through the fuge will have time to be cleaned so a powerhead will be needed at some point. Perhaps I have answered by own question? lol...sorry about the rambling.

I like monologues like that. Only thing I'd suggest is you go with a 20. The clowns will be much happier.

Can't wait to see it up and running.

You like that aye?

Yeah, the more I research the closer I get to what I am going to to, however before that happens I rush and ask questions like this

I have decided to go with the 20L and I am going with the AC 110 for a fuge and now I am debating on doing a CL system for flow. At this rate I should be up and running this time next year :cool1:
