Filter on 24g nano cube

Hello all just had a quick question on the filter...is it suppose to be above or below the little slits cut into the back of the tank on the top left

I'm not quite sure what you are asking ... did you do a diy surface skimmer?

I think it is supposed to sit down into the bottom - that should uncover the filter intake slits.
