When I bought my Frogspawn, I listened to the store employee go on and on about how direct feeding was not necessary - but definitely helpful. I have a lot of suggestions on what I could use. cyclopeez, fresh hatched baby brine shrimp, chunks of silversides, and the list goes on.
However, every conversation I have with someone I think knows something about this says specifically that food particles will stick to the frogspawn tentacles. This is behavior I have observed in anemones both in the wild and in tanks I have kept previously. It is behavior I *expected* with this animal, although this is the first one I have ever kept.
But it’s just not happening.
I have done everything but the large chunks. Nothing sticks to the tentacles. I drop mysis shrimp on it with all powerheads off. I let it sit for 20 minutes. When I turn the flow back on, the food just flies on out.
As far as I can tell, the frogspawn is healthy and happy. It’s beautiful. It’s been in my tank now for over two months. It’s growing.
I can’t say I am overly concerned at this point, simply because it is looking so good, at least to me. I just find it odd that so many can give me the same advice and I just can’t seem to make this work. I figure if everyone else can do it, and I can’t... I must be doing something wrong.
Advice, additional instuction, assistance appreciated.
