EMERGENCY STUPID ME!!

Yesterday i did my water change and i turn everything off except the lights so today like 24 hours later i was doing my 2 week garlic deep to prevent diseases so i notice that my temperature was at 74 and i was like ohhhh my god i forgot to turn the heater on and my normal temperature is at 80 most of the time or should i say 79.2 to 80 anyways i notice that my coral is open but not looking happy and some of my zoos had like purple saggy stuff like pieces off waste of fish but alot and everywhere were the zoos ... the fish looks fine but im worry about all of them ... do you think im gonna have some mayor problems later or i just stress them or shock them and they are gonna be fine in a few days...

I had the heater quit on me a few months back. 74 is not too bad of a temperature swing. I am guessing everything will be just fine, I know mine was.

You should raise the temp back up to normal slowly so you don't shock anything and everything should recover just fine. You may also want to consider using a turkey baster to blow the zoos off. Good luck, Skip

74 isn't too bad. I've seen my tank at 70 before and everything was fine a few days later...

You just don't want that to happen too often. That is when the corals suffer.

It'll be fine. Just set the heater about half of normal and bring it up over the course of a couple days. Honestly I've never used a heater on my tanks. A 3-4 degree change over several hours isn't that big a deal, and not outside of what many corals/fish deal with normally in the wild.

thx to all the reply's and well everything looks normal well the fish and i raise the temperature 1 degree every half hour and like skimp said i buster my zoos but i couldnt clean them all the way and i know for sure im not gonna let it happend again it never happen me before..... the fist things that im gonna check all the time when doing water change will be heater and filter :lol: :lol:
