I know this is long but PLEASE READ AND HELP!!! I cam home today and was about to do a water change and i realized my anenome shrimp was missing. I figured he went behind the rocks because he was molting. I then looked into the filter intake and there he was. I had recently put in a guard that went inside of the intake like a cone so he couldn't get sucked in, but he still did. Half his body was throught the rungs of the guard and i saw no movement. It hough for sure he was dead. I took out the "U" tube to get him out and he started twitching. HOPE!! I carefully removed him from the guard and placed him back in the tank. His entire right side of his body (legs and claw) looks mangled and he was swimming pretty wierd but he seemed active. I figured he was going to die but he went to a rock outcropping and sat there. He can still move and function, but he doesnt look that great. Is there any way he can still molt and survive or is there anything that i can do to help him. I already turned the light off and rapped a towel around the tank to keep the light out. It is a 1 gallon pico and i am so devastated because he was the true life of my tank and the centerpiece. He also has the most amazing personality when he hosts in my leather coral. PLEASE offer advice, i am devastated and knew i could come to you guys as a first and last resort.
Thanks

I'm sorry for your shrimp. I think his survival rate isn't going to be good. The best that you can do is what you have already done, putting him in a separate tank and hope that he recovers. You can try and put a large sponge on your intake to keep the little critters from being sucked in. Good luck and hopefully he will recover
