Does anyone know anything about these little clown gobies?

Do a search for clown goby, clown gobies, citron goby, and citron gobies.

You'll find we've discussed these guys quite a bit.

i have had a couple of these guys....great fish. only one thing they are really small fish so if you have any creatures like coralbanded shrimp or emerald crab, ect...dinner time.doesnt swim around much, likes to perch. other than that great fish to have.

I have a white-banded cleaner shrimp.... happy little guy. Would he bother a Citron Clown Goby? I doubt it. Other than him, I just have little blue leg hermits and Narc snails.

nope the shrimp shouldn't bother it at all.

I'd suggest having them feed the tank in the store and see if they're eating.

Several people have had trouble during the last year or so with them not eating.

I actually prefer this type, as they remain smaller, but I've tried 3 of them, and a green, and black of the other variety this year, and none of them ever ate.

It's frustrating because I've had two of the little guys in my 55g and they did just fine. The first one I had for two years. The second had been in the tank for a year when I lost it in the move. All I can think of is that one of the main suppliers has started using cyanide to capture them. Of the 5 fish, the last one even ate at the store, and continued to eat in my tank, but his stomach kept getting smaller and smaller. Not a good sign.

Wow, incysor. That's depressing.

I saw several of these last night at a local marine livestock distributor's store. I didn't ask to see them eat. I'll have to go back and have them do that. I like fish that stay smaller and don't need a lot of room. My tank is only 15 gallons.

I have to agree with everyone, they are one of my favorite fish. The citron gobies get a bit larger than the regular clown gobies but they all have the same character traits and make good nano fish.

Yup, none of my citron gobies have survived longer than a month either. But then again, Incysor and I were probably purchasing them from the same dealer/lfs in Houston.

I'd make sure you actually witness him take food before purchase.

I have a yellow clown gobie for 3-4 months. Loves to eat frozen shrimp. He lives with a fire shrimp. Never a problem and he's always more interested in what is going on outside the tank than inside! He is really cool.
