hi, i went to my LSF and they told me not to add my CUC untill i have my fish and corals in and they also said to wait at leats untill my tank is 5 months old can anyone help. and also i asked them about different snails which the names i have heard on here planty of times and they didn't know what they were i'm in australia so do you think that could be why they didnt know them thaks sorry its so long

No problem. I don't know why they would advise not having a CUC until after your fish and corals. You can add them at any time really. Most people like them in first to clean up all the algae blooms that occur during cycling. The longer you wait the better with a salt water tank, but 5 months is a bit long. You can start adding live stock once your first initial cycle levels out with 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and low nitrates (for corals try to get as close to zero as possible). Look up pictures of the snails and try printing out the pages? Maybe that will help get the snails you want.

i live in australia to if your going to take in pictures i would try a big petshop which makes your chances bigger :shock: . if they dont have them ones ask to look at their reef safe ones and maybe take a picture or try explain it to someone at the forum to identify them. or do what i do go to the beach and get snails :idea: . the ones what i use are like turbo snails and just found on the rocks. they dont touch my (soft)corals and do a great job. but only take what you need ;-)
