Corals for Nanos

I am purchasing a nanocube 12 deluxe and it will be my first reef tank. I am a newbie with marine tanks (not fresh though) and I don't know much about corals. I would like to know if all corals are safe for nanos in terms of size, for I am aware that some corals are much harder to keep (SPS)
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on which corals I should purchase?

Most corals could ideally outgrow your nano, but it is no different than if they out grew a larger tank. You would just trim them back, prop them, move them, etc, depending on the type.

Good beginner corals:
-mushrooms
-zoanthids
-leathers
-anthelia

-Frogspawm
-torch
-candy cane
-plates

and well if they outgrow your tank you can swap them or sell them. and always leave some space between them...

Polyps (yellow, sand, etc.)
Xenia (but can grow like crazy)
Star polyps
Most softies

Try to avoid LPS corals with long sweeper tentacles.

Thanks Skip for mentioning this!

Vetter, all the corals that are mentioned are good choices, but please be careful with the LPS. Im not saying that people do not keep them in their 12s, but like Skip mentioned the sweeper tentacles are going to be an issue.

The one that was listed that caught my eye was the torch, please avoid this one! I do not think that you want to add this particular coral only to have it sting/kill any surrounding it. Now this is just my opinion, not ment to flame, just to inform!
