Hello, my tank is nearing the end of its cycle, and I am wanting to add some coral soon.
Can anyone suggest some good beginner coral; I am leaning towards soft coral. I plan to have 2 False Percula Clownfish, plus the yellowtailed damselfish I already have. Room is an issue so I will need something that won’t out grow the tank... I already have some green/brown zoos growing on my live rock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Tank Specs:
55 Liters (15gal)
1 Yellow tailed Damselfish
2.5kg Live Rock
5.7kg EnviroRock (Man made)
5kg Crushed Coral
1x15watt Bulb (being upgraded soon)
1 Wet/Dry filter (built-in)
1 Filter/Pump (for Circulation)
1x75watt Heater
Tank has been running for 3 weeks.

Thanks in advance.

The types of corals you can keep depends on the type of lighting you plan on using. As of right now you have extremely low lighting and are very limited as to what you can keep. Until you upgrade, you could start out with some mushrooms and zoanthids. Both are lower light corals and are easy to care for.

Zoos don't take up much space, and they'll do ok under low light conditions. You probably won't see much growth from them though because they actually prefer higher lighting. Most mushrooms will do fine without much light. Ricordias however prefer a bit more light than most other mushrooms. Zenia, anthelia, most paly's, some leathers, and frogspawn, hammer, torch corals will do ok under weaker light condions.

As stated by others already it's difficult to make decent suggestion without knowing what you're planning on upgrading to. For a 15, I'd try to get at least a couple 32w pc lamps over it minimum. Most of the corals listed above will probably do fine under that in a 15.

Did you personally make that big piece of live rock at the bottom or purchase it like that? Looks pretty cool. Also, if that red coral thingy is just a plastic decoration, I would take it out as it will just become an algae nuisance in the future.

Yes the red fake coral will come out.. just a bit of colour for now...

I bought the man made rock from a coral shop, i think they make them from moulds, it has pretty cool caves.

My tank hood only has space for one bulb, any suggestions on the strength? I have heard a lot about the 50/50 bulbs what wattage should i get?

I think you can find a 20 watt screw-in 50/50 PC bulb for less than $20 online, but that is not going to significantly increase your lighting. You can still stick with the great coral suggestions made above. You might consider buying a lighting fixture and scrapping the hood in lieu of an egg crate top. What is the length of your tank?

As a side note: you will probably run into territory problems with two clowns and that damsel. If the clowns are young and unpaired, the damsel will probably harass them to death. You may consider taking it back and just keep a pair of clownfish.
