get a plastic paint scraper from the hardware store. that's the cheapest thing probably. also I bought a dish scraper from linens-n-things that works well too.

is the coraline growing on the front of your tank or the sides? i regularly scrap the front so i ahvent had any grow there but i usually leave it alone on the sides. i actually like the way it looks on the sides and back, natural background. i also use a plastic scraper for the front along with my magnet scraper.

how do you guys get that stuff to grow.. i like it but only thing growing on my tank is brown algae, which i would normally be bothered by but my turbo snails seem to love it... one side is covered in it one day and the next its gone.. they take a few days to clean the rocks and then the sides are covered again.. its a wonderful cycle...

My coraline definitely took off after the move, when I upgraded the lights from PCs to VHO/MH combo. It's cool, but it means that my calcium levels drop faster than they did before.

To help coraline algae grow, you just need good lighting, monitor your calcium at about 400-450 ppm, low phosphates, that about it. some supplements help, too.

About 6 months into my new tank it really took off, now it covers everything and I've got to start scraping. I wish it would cover more of the rock, but that's where it has to compete with everything else, unlike anything and everything acrylic. Yeah, it looks cool.
