Cloudy Water

I left for thanksgiving weekend and left my tank under the care of my friend. I came back and the water was sort of cloudy, so i cleaned and did a good sized water change. It is still a little cloudy almost yellowish. Would carbon help that?

You can disregard this post... I was scanning some old threads searching for Carbon and I found my answer. So if anyone is reading this and has the same question, the answer is yes. I will be buying some later today. I have seen chemipure reccomended on numerous threads so I think thats the route I will choose. Just an idea for a sticky, maybe the more experienced reefers can write one on what media does what for a sort of quick reference guide for the noobs. I'd do it but I have to study for finals! Haha thanks nanotank

Probably just want to go with a good quality carbon like Marineland Black Diamond. The ultimate unbeatable best is TLF hydrocarbon but it is a bit more expensive. I have read from a few chemists etc that products like Chemi-pure are mostly a waste except the carbon that is inside. This is because alot of the ion-exchange resins in these products arent very effective in saltwater.

Personally, I will be installing a Phosban reactor with Black Diamond for media in a week or so.
