Cleaner Shrimp

Well, as I was staring at my tank (everyone does that right?) I saw my new (1 week old) cleaner shrimp shed his skin. Very cool! The question is, do I need to remove his old skin or will scavengers eat that?

you can remove it if it is easy enough for you to grab. otherwise your cleaners will take care of it.

p.s. How are the frags doin?

Frags are doing great, will post a pic as soon as my batteries charge. My turbos keep knocking over the Xenia. I think I'll take them back to the LFS I got them from..

Here's the frag I got from Mr. Reefman..very nice.

I placed it in "Hogan's Alley"..the right tunnel side of my nano away from the other less mean corals..

Roodee,

When a cleaner shrimp molts, it leaves behind not only a shell but level of calcium in your tank; don't remove your molts....

This will breakdown in time and be a healthy addition to your calcium levels, it doesn't have any ammonia or nitrites which would be bad, very different from a dead fish which builds on these two elements.
