I just picked up my RSM today with a Prime Chiller 1/10th HP. I also got the stand for the RSM. In the chiller instructions it tell you not to locate the chiller in a cabinet. Does anyone run there chiller in their cabinets and does anyone have problems?

If you put the chiller in the cabinet you won't get enough airflow thru the evaporator which will make it ineffective. It will heat up the cabinet and cause the chiller to cycle longer causing increased wear.

Yeah you are spot on, i have the same tank and stand and i have mine in the cabinet and the chiller gets extremely hot so most times i leave the front door open to let the air cirulate through, i am looking at mounting cooling fans on the sides of the cabinet similar to whats on you computer to help keep the chiller cooler and working more effective.

This is a bit old, but if you do this try looking into the 12 cm fans. They are really quiet and move a considerable amount of air due to their size.

:) on computers. I don't like noise and I actually pulled out a dB meter to make sure that noise is not that loud. You can put the fan on a dimmer switch and control the speed of the fan (thus the noise).
