I just aquired a 12 gallon JBJ basic model tank. It has 4 chambers in the back. No pump came with it. Looks like the 4th chamber is where a pump would go but the space is so small. Anybody have a cube like this and if so, what kind of pump do you run?
Thanks

:welcome to the board.
The most widely used pumps are MiniJet 606's. There have been a few people that used one of the smaller Rios but I am not sure of the model #.

Thankyou............I've learned alot form this site already!
I'll checkout the 606's. I'm assuming that you must run a hose from the pump to the outlet.....right?

Thats right, you should be able to utilize the hose thats already there. With a 606 you get about 150 gph of flow.

The micro jet is even smaller than the mini. It measures 1.75 x 1.5 x 2.25 in. which 0.5 in. shorter and 0.75 in. lower than the Mini. The micro jet MC 450 will give you 117 gph.

My cube now has 3 chambers............I decided to cut out the divider between chambers 3 and 4. I have a maxijet 1200 in chamber 3 now.
I was going to put some poly filter in chamber 1 and my heater in chamber 2. Does that sound ok? I also have live sand and about 12 lbs of live rock going in.
I'll do about 1 to 2 gallon water changes every week.............I think this setup should work ok with only 2 fish (clown and bicolored blenny) a shrimp and a few guys in there for cleanup.
What do you think?
