Caulerpa taking over!

They need a lot more swimming room. Being in too small a tank will cause it a lot of stress. Tangs are prone to ich and hlle. So generally they will develop a bad case of one or the other or both and die.

i would if it was mine but its not....just holding it for a buddy until his 75 is done.

 i could drive him down but it would cost you more then just buying one until your problem is fixed

Guess I'll stick to the toothbrush and the extended tweezers. I have been thinking though. You know the crisscross lighting plastic stuff for like drop ceilings and lights? Well, if I keep the rock a few inches from the back, the caulerpa and other macro could grow up that and trimming would be easy as it reaches out. Just trim before it hits the rock. I know accidents happen and it's a bomb; but, it grows pods so well and I have never had a problem with algae. I know the plants are why. Yes a fudge is perfect, but one that is not custom made is going to be ugly on my bar and looks and eye candy are everything to me with my nano. It's my baby, my garden, my love! I shall be like the English and carry on during this war.

The best tip I can give you at this point - something I have done myself on many tanks - Go to the local autoparts store (advance auto, trak auto, blah blah blah) and look for a set of toothbrush like brush cleaners. They are a bit bigger and usually come in packs of 3. One plastic (soft) one brassy (medium) one metal (hard).

These are excellent for ripping macro off rocks. Go easy and rinse off the brush frequently. Preferably do it in a bucket. Do this good and in a few days your problem will vanish.

On a side note, these brushes will scour your rocks. So be carefull with that. Its good because it will spread coralline for you and can be bad if you scrape too much into the rock.

Anyways, Its a good method to try.
