Hola Nano Gang!
I currently have a 50 gallon tank with 2 True Percula Clowns. I wanted to know everyones take on adding one other clown, specificly a Bluestripe Clownfish. I've heard stories of how not mixing clowns and or that it should be done with caution. Would it be safe to go a head and add a Bluestripe Clownfish or any other Clownfish for that matter?

Thx in advance for your advice!!
Jay

I use to have a tomato and a gold striped maroon in a 60 gallon. I'm not sure of the blue stripes temperament compared to the maroon how ever I would highly recommend against it. They fight and fight and will not stop unless they're feeding. I spent over an hour trying to catch the maroon so I could give him back to the LFS. They might be fine while they're young, but as they get older man do they get honry. Clowns are pretty but when you mix them they become little bastards. If your two percs have been in there a while and have had enough time to claim the tank theirs then I would recommend against it even more. After my tomato dies I will never have another clown in a communal tank. Of course I say this with no experience with either of the two types you've mentioned.
Good luck.

KN...i'm getting in the same boat about clowns. They can be a real beast and I doubt I will get another once mine kick the bucket. Personally I wouldn't have gotten them in the first place if my wife didn't push me into it. But they are so damn funny to watch swim. They look like they are constantly drunk...lol

yeah.... I got the tomato for sentimental purposes. We went SCUBA diving with them in Fiji on our Honey moon. The Gold stripe maroons are really pretty and almost fluffy looking. I originally had two tanks and wasn't planing on putting them together, but I didn't have time to keep up with the nano. So that was the begining of the end for Sid the Gold striped Maroon. I've never noticed the drunken swiming. I guess they do behave a little differently. I'll pay a littl e more attention.
