Blocking lower vents on AquaPod 12 gal

Can anybody give me some suggestions on blocking the two lower vents in the 12 Aqua?
Better to block from the front or back? Underwater putty, just fill in the slots? Acrylic covering with glue?
Thank you in advance.

? dunno but I think from the front (easier to clean). Do you ever want to use them again? If not I would just putty and put a piece of acrylic (for looks) over it.

Weld-on #16 on a piece of black plastic from the back of an old CD case. Cut the plastic a little large (so there is no oozing) and use the sponge that came with the tank to keep it held into place.

Just fill in the vent with some marine safe silicone and scrape it flat with a putty knife or the like. No need for plastic pieces. Also, if you ever want to open the vent again silicone is easy to remove. Just my 2 cents.
