I have a blastomussa, that loves to eat everything! It eats a lot... Anyway, while it is closing to eat, I noticed that the edge of tissue on the skeleton on one side looks like it is protruding out...like a lot. Swollen more like it. Just a little part,. Is this a method of reproduction or a cause for concern?

it's to the left of the blasto's head...hope ya can see it. I noticed tonight it had little tentacles. I always thought LPS developed like two mouths, then slowly split that way. Is it a baby or is something weird going on here, lol?

LOL! I have seen my LPS use both ways to reproduce. Splitting and budding. Kinda cool!
Interesting, is one method more common than the other? I was told that blastos reproduce so slowly. I've only had this guy a month! I do feed often, mini mysis and cyclops...phyto enriched. That dendrophyllia in the background is a piggy and eats everyday, as it should from what I as told.

I am not sure about which is more common. I have noticed my hammer splits more than it buds and my frogspawn is equal in splitting and budding. Candy cane I've only seen splitting, but it is just a 2 head to 5 head split.
