BIOCUBE QUESTION

Has anyone had any experience with the Oceanic Protein Skimmer designed for their 29G BioCube? I understand that it does not require any modifications.

I have one in my 14g oceanic. I'm not 100% sold on it. I bought it because I like the clean look and the way you can hide it in the 1st chamber. I've only had it up and running for a couple of weeks, and I have to say the results are mimimal so far. I can't honestly say how efficient or good this skimmer is, as the tank is only 3 weeks old as well.

It comes ready to go, nothing else needed, you just remove the carbon fliter insert and it hangs on the divider between the 1st chamber and the second one.

the only thing I can say so far, is that you have to adjust the airflow to the airstone down so much, otherwise you are just filling the collection cup with clean water. I may try and modify mine so that the tube from the top of the reaction chamber to the bottom of the collection cup is longer, therfore allowing me to increase the amount of airflow producing more bubbles, and hope fully a more productive skimmer.

For $40 I figured it was a cheap experiment to try out. If it fails not a huge amount of money invested in it, and I'll just continue to run chemi-pure as I was before.
