Hello all. Well, it's been a week since I've set up my BioCube 14. Wanted to get a few opinions.
Readings:
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:10
Ph:8.3
Temp:82
Sal/Grav:36/1.027
Did one top-off today with Wally's purple cap. The weird thing is when I set up the tank and for a couple of days, everything was at zero (ammo,nitrite,nitrate). Today the nitrate is 10. I have not taken a reading where the ammo or nitrite spiked. They do spike to get a nitrate reading, correct?
I am going to the LFS to get some rubble and some chaeto for chamber two. I was wondering if it would be OK to get a few CUC's (nassarius, astrea, margarita)? I was told that it should be OK, but wanted to get other opinions.
I definitely have things growing on the LR. Can you help me identify the purple stuff and the orange thing?

Feather Duster tubes rotting? They were pure white when I got the LR, but are now brown towards the back. The FD's are still there.
