The theme of this month's contest is for you to show us your best top down tank photo. This is a first for this site and I really think it will be neat showing how our reef tanks look from above. You might need to play with angles to reduce glare but this should be a fun way to showcase the corals in your tank. So get your cameras out and get snapping! The winner with the most votes will receive the awesome Seachem package pictured below:

This package includes a ReefStatus Calcium 150 titration test kit. Also included is a Reef Calcium, Reef Plus, Reef Carbonate and Reef Strontium 8.5 fl oz bottle.

Special Note:
Due to numerous cheating efforts in past contests, you must have at least 50 posts to enter this contest. The idea is that veteran Nanotankers know that this site will not tolerate cheating. We are a fun and friendly group and we just don't have time for that stuff. Moderators will be watching and following the voting closely. Please do not ask anyone to vote for you. Please do not create new accounts and vote for yourself. Any cheating suspicions will result in an immediate ban/removal from the site.

How it works:
The deadline for submitting your photo is midnight CST August 23, 2006. All forum members will vote on the entries to determine the best photo until midnight CST August 31, 2006. The member with the most votes is the winner. In the event of a tie, the member with the highest post count (the more active member) at the end of the voting period will be the winner.

The rules:
You must be an active member of Nanotank.com and have 50 posts at a minimum before the photo submission date to enter. Only photos from tanks 20 gallons and under in size will be considered. Please submit only one 800X600 photo from your personal tank. No photoshopping or color altering of any kind is allowed. Site sponsors and moderators cannot enter the contest. Nanotank.com will only ship to the continental US. If the winner resides elsewhere, they are responsible for their own shipping. Nanotank.com reserves the right to change/modify/cancel any part of this contest at any time for any reason. Nanotank.com also reserves the right to display your photo or use it in any means it so desires from that point forward.

How to enter:
Email the photo entry to [email protected]
Type August Contest, NT member name in the email subject.
Please keep photos at 800W x 600H. We can resize them if need be.

Ed,

That last picture the front shot, is how my tank is today. My tank is entering its 1st year anniversary and from all it's trials and errors, here she is...

I only have 4 SPS corals that survived and made it through, they are extremely healthy, my birdsnet, two acro and another deep water SPS...

My fish are the most important part of my tank as they all have personalities, and all are still alive all of them. Remember I had one of the worst ich outbreaks hit my tank..

So what does this all mean ED? It means my tank is very mature and I could drop in some serious SPS with minimal chances of failure, before that I lost so many to an un established tank...

More real estate for me to play with? Yes of course, but very slowly....

I don't have any money because of the new home.... :( I might have to work at a LFS for x-mas break to fund me some SPS....

Okay guys, I only have one entry at this time. I would need at least five entries to proceed with the contest so please submit them ASAP as their is only 13 more days to enter.

Also please note: your entry must be a top-down photograph. To clarify - from the top of the water looking straight down into your tank. I've had a few entries with just regular tank shots sent to me and these will not be eligible for this month's contest.

Thanks! :lol3:
