Aptasia???

Hey, i got this rock at the beach and I noticed that it had these little tubes on it. I noticed tonight when I got home from work that two of them had little aptasia-esque feeler things coming out of the top. SHould I take it out?? Sorry the pic is kind of bad, but my camera would focus up too close.

so I was just looking and it turns out all of them have the little feelers coming out of the top. also, i noticed a clear bodied one with feelers. its completely transparent and tiny so I dont think ill be able to get a pic of it. How can I tell if its aptasia?

okay, should I get rid of the rocks since i noticed them so early? One of them has feather dusters on it! I've read about joe's juice. Think that will work?

Yep. Just turn OFF your pumps and creep on the aiptasia, don't scare it into hiding - then NUKE it. :twisted:

I JUST did this! Joe's juice= domination of aiptasia.

I got aptasia x... it says to get the aptasia to curl around the needle and cover the oral disc or something? I thought you just stick it and inject it?

If it is th same as Joe's juice, you are essentially trying to feed the aiptasia. The stuff will melt them.

yep, it works like a champ too. Its essentially a heavy kalkwasser. It is a pH burn that causes the destruction of the anemone. You can use regular kalkwasser to do this as well, or Ive also heard of using near boiling water and a Hypo needle.

Boiling h2o didn't work for me, as the water cooled off too fast to get it to the anenome. Joe's juice on the other hand worked wonders in my 50g.
