Another lighting question

Hi Guys,

I am thinking about getting one of those fancy NanoCubes (the 12 DX) I know a lot of you guys have them.

Would the (12DX) 2X24W 50/50 give enough light for Zoas, Yellow Polpys, GSP’s, Mushrooms, Pumping Xenia,Candy Canes, Kenya Trees and maybe a frag of Yellow Suns.

I would love to order an upgraded model from Nanocustoms.com but would cost me too much to ship to Canada.

Thanks,

Eric

I think the light will be enough for that kind of corals. and the suncoral will need a shadow spot cause they dont like strong lighting so wil be good to place it in a cave IMO...

Not totally sure on this, but the white pumping xenia may need a little better than the stock lighting, but thats the only one that likes light big time when talking about the pulsators..

I had xenia in my 12DX and it was pumping like crazy. I think the stock lighting will be fine for what you have described as wanting to put in the tank.

All those corals should be fine. Some zoas will most likely not work though. Zoas have a wide variety of requirements but some would do ok with that setup. Generally the more colorful the zoa the more light they need but you should be fine with some browns or red zoas (the need the least amount of light IME).

Did you have the bright white pulsators? There is a LFS here that has tons of that stuff growing in thier showtank..its spreading to the glass and everything. He told me I could have some frags off the glass for 5 bucks a piece...some were fist size growing on the glass.

I didn't buy cause I read (can't remember where) that the white pulsating xenia needs big time light? If you think it will work in my stock 12g dx..I may buy 5 bucks worth..

Mine was pretty light colored so it could be the same stuff. We can't really ID a color just by color.
