anemone

I had this little anemone and it deciede it wanted to go into the back of my refuge through two little holes in my tank. So it went in one hole and then stretched into the other, well i guess it finally made it through but it went into the space where the pump was and well it got sucked into the pump and part of it went back into the main part of the tank and i found the other half in the pump section. I was wondering if it was an accidental death or suicide.

Well,

That is a two part answer. Anenomes by nature do require a good amount of natural sunlight in the wild, so if your tank doesn't have the correct spectrum within, it will move in search of the correct light...

It also demands a certain type of water current and will search for that as well. In the wild when they are threatened or need to make a quick move, they will free float in the water column. Unfortunately, this spells disaster in our tanks as they get caught in the grill of our strong pumps...

The end results is a slow agonizing death, far from suicide so my vote goes to accidental death.
