Am I on track?

Hello to everyone!!! As of today I completed the set-up of my 2.5 MB which I will post pictures of later or when the water becomes clearer in the Pico Index.
But first, a few things I'd like to ask. I dont remember what I did before when i set-up my NanoCube. So here is what I did. Comment me on my mistakes.

-Mixed Sera Salt with 2 Gallons RO water
-Aged salt mix for 2 days in the 2.5 tank
-Added 3Lbs. Fiji Live Rock (has been curing at LFS since Aug. 1, 05)
-Added 1-1/2Lbs. Crushed Coral (not Live)
-Topped off with (remaining 2/3) water from my established tank

Aside from that, how long should I wait before doing any water tests? And should I perform weekly water changes or wait till cycling is over? The only thing I remember from what I did before was that I didnt add the sand right away...I waited for about a week before doing so. But since it aint live sand, I decided to add it right away. Anyway theres still alot of time for me to correct any mistakes. Thanks

That sounds like it should be fine. I generally test about once a week during the cycle period, but I know people that test daily. It's pretty much personal preference.

If you do water changes during the cycle it will prolong it. If the LR already has 3 weeks of curing, you might not have much of a cycle to speak of. Start testing and see where the params read.

I've never done one until the levels zeroed out. Even then I didn't do the first water change until I'd had fish and corals in there for a bit.

Okay good. I'll do a water test for ammonia and nitrites in a while and do the pH tomorrow at around noon. I had to ask because when I did my first tank I wasnt able to check anything just like incysor and all the while I thought what I did to my first tank was wrong. I'm glad I joined this forum....learning new things everyday. Thank you!!!
