A bad idea

Don't ever mix clowns. Wow what a bad idea. I had the tomato in a 12 gallon. Then I got a 60 gallon and got a maroon. Then I decided to sell the 12 and put everything into the 60 including the tomato. The tomato was bigger then the maroon at the time and they fought a little in the begining. now the gold striped maroon is getting bigger and boy boy does he think he's a bad ass. He's trying to prove he's the dominant fish and knocking everything he can over and constantly trying to fight with my tomato. He's gone on Sat. I love the look of the Gold striped maroon but they're bastards. He actually bit me tonight when I was cleaning up after the mess he made.

yep :) i've warned people about maroons many times
i had a pair in the 125 many many years ago that would constantly spawn, but i had to get rid of them for the same issues you are talking about. i have a pair of maroons in the hex - but they are the only fish in there. i think that if someone wants maroons a 55g dedicated to them would be a good choice, as you have to realize just how big and mean a female maroon can get

I do believe I was one of the foolish people that you warned. Some of us just need to learn things the hard way. I can't wait to get rid of him.

He's gone. I chased him around the tank for an hour, turned off my pumps took out all the rock except one for the other fish to hide behind and just kept at it. It was pretty funny becuase they other fish new I was after him and they would chase him out from the one rock that was there. They were my little helpers. obviously wanted him gone as badly as I did. When I caught him I was so excited that I almost dropped the net. that would have sucked. Anyway. he's gone and life can go on. I bought him for $26 when he was little and they only gave me $15 credit for him which sucked, but I actually would have paid them to take him so it's all good.
