Hi folks.

Thought I'd try a pico and so far successful (3 weeks.) Pics to follow when I figure out how to take a picture without blur. Anyway, is a 20-25% weekly water change sufficient or should I supplement with the above product? I already bought the stuff so I'd thought I'd give it a try.

I do have a lot of soft corals in there (alot) and a small - the smallest I've seen ever of a firefish - about an inch. Firefish has been in for a few days now and has a voracious appetite. Hope he keeps it up I'm afraid of the bioload now that I have to feed the fish but the crabs seems to clean up nicely.

Anyway the NanoReef Product should help the corals but maybe not since the water volume is so small and I'm changing so much each week.

im sure it is a nice tank cant wait for pics

but im pretty sure that the tank is too small for a firefish, no matter how small the firefish is because it will grow and the bioload is too large for a .75g pico.

if you are going to put a fish in the tank, IMO a neon goby or catalina goby should fair better than the firefish

Good luck!

I wouldn't put any additives in that small of a tank......your water changes will take care of anything the soft corals might need.

I have to agree with this...that tank is just too small to dose anyting.

You could however do nearly full water changes so long as you match the temp, pH, and alkalinity...that would replenish all traces as well as eliminate nitrates and nitrites.

I also say water changes alone are plenty to keep all of your levels in check. I would go for a small shrimp or porcelin crab for a resident instead of a fish, the fish is just too much ofd a bioload IMO for such a small tank.
