Interesting because I don't remember posting that comment. Hmm. Maybe I was out of it or half asleep because it is very evident why you are doing this. Oh well.

Yeah, thanks for all the information. If it were me, I would probably choose a different tank. Then again, when I have my mind and heart set on something I usually do it no matter what anyone tells me.

Small update,

My mikeguerrero went home to his new owner, it was a little sad as I personally carried the tank down to his car...

I know he found a good home, I wish Brian the best with my legendery tank, I hope to see his pictures some day on this website...

As for the Larnie he will be taking off this Monday, via federal express to Newport beach. I just didn't get a chance to package him...

Here is a picture of how well I cleaned them up before they left... Also here is a picture of my holding tank that my LFS has lent me...

My tank has been delayed until Wednesday, they missed the delivery on Friday, I was bummed but hey I've learned to be patient in this hobby.

Hi Reefers,

My LFS called me this morning and gave me great news, they shipped in the Oceanic reef ready 72 gallon bowfront. I was so happy because I didn't want a second grade tank, the AGA.

If I could drive an Acura over a Honda I would, and this is how I feel about the Oceanic; I just wanted to say thanks to Ming and Atlantis Aquarium for pulling through.

You see here on the west coast every LFS I called swore up and down that I couldn't and woudn't be able to get Oceanic bow front tank, especially not the reef ready tanks. Well, Ming proved those guys wrong he came through.

I will be posting pictures on here very soon just like Rbaby showcased her new setup. I'm really excited can't wait to share more with you guys soon.

I am also happy to know from Incysor that this brand tank comes with a 5 year warranty, I was scared to get the AGA because of what he said about it's warranty, none existent...

I have a question; should I run my 72 bowfront with or without it's glass top. I've heard some reefers say that evaporation is really good and you shouldn't place the glass top.

What do you guys and gals think? I think the glass would prevent my fish from carpet surfing but I don't know what other benefits if any?

What is the fish limit in this reef tank? I will not be adding my blue tale damsel into this reef so the only fish that would have vacancy are two small paired up clowns, two paired up yosha gobies, one orchid dottyback and one six line wrasse. I also have one anenome shrimp and one sexy shrimp.

I would like to go anthias or chromis and maybe a tang but I'm not sure, any recommendation would greatly be taken.

you always said a catalina goby would be a nice addition. :) As for the top, maybe you can get a partial cover or something? Something where it covers about 80 to 90%, and then a small opening. I guess that way it would help some huh? I'd hate to see jumping fish happening. If my cube didn't have a lid, I'd sure would have lost my gobies, the dudes jump!

A catalina in a 72 gallon? Would be hard to ever find it don't you think? Water temps might actually be cool enough though in a tank that big.

I'd do a flame angel and a couple chromis.

yeah I was messing with him dj, since he left the nano world, haha, and he wanted one but never got one. Now he has diff options he never had before.

Steve you are funny, I was wondering why you were suggesting that little guy. He would hide and I would never see him... I had them before in a 20 gallon long and he dissappeared, died because of the heat issues, they like cool water....

Any ideas of pros or cons???

Also, do you recommend any place to purchase premium live rock online that would make my tank shine... I have about 20 pounds already from both my cubes...

I was looking to order from Dr Fosters and smith, they have a sale for $89.99 you get 45 pounds of premium rock. Is that any good?

Mike, as for skimmers I would ask Incysor or SM. My tanks are all so small I've only ever had one on my 20 gallon. They will know a lot more.

As for LR, premium is a tricky word. Its really hard to gauge what exactly it is you're buying. I really feel that nothing can beat picking up a piece of rock and looking at it and saying "I'll take that one". Also, with you being on the west coast, all that stuff is nice and fresh anyways. I guess its ultimatley up to you but I like to see what I'm buying.

Not sure about the quality of Dr. F&S. I've ordered LR from Premium Aquatics before and it worked out fine.

Hey Sugar and Incysor,

Can you give me some insight on the purchase of either an sump only skimmer vs an outside skimmer?

My two choices are the Deltec AP-600 outside skimmer or the Deltec Turbo 1250 inside sump only skimmer. The price is identical, yet I will have to puchase a separate pump for the outside skimmer.

I do have space for an outside skimmer, just don't know which one would be more efficient. my LFS says outside skimmers are more efficient.

I do know that the Turbo has room for Rowas phosphate removal and carbon while the other doesn't.

Any opinions?
