6 Line Wrasse vs. Sexy Shrimp

Just so all you beginners know...

SIX LINE WRASSES LIKE TO EAT SEXY SHRIMP!!!

No one warned me of this when I was deciding on livestock, but everyone sure seemed to know after the fact. That makes my $29 6 line a $59 fish. Dammit.

I really liked those sexys, too. They were REALLY cool.

Hah. I have gotten really involved in my local fish club so I am posting there more frequently. Additionally, I like the podcast at Talkingreef.com so I use those forums, too. Another thing that stops me from posting here more often is the software. DJ really needs to get vBulletin running instead of phBB.

Are they "Triple Blue Gigantic Zoos?" I have been thinking about getting these. I want some blue and some red in my tank.

Not all six line wrasses eat sexy shrimps. I kept a six line along with a sexy for almost one year in both a 12 gallon cube and a 72 gallon reef with no problems.

It depends on how you introduce them, sometimes if the sexy is there prior to the release of the sixline odds are better for the sexy as he has territory advantage; crevices and the like.

Yeah does are really nice but i know red & blue zoas are hard to keep...color & to live... i have tryed 3 different types of blues and no luck at the moment and red the same i dont know why really probably they needed more light or a more deep blue spectrum and i was running at that time just PC so now that i have MH & PC combo ill try them again see what happen...another good place to get different blue zoas is at SEALIFEFLORIDA.COM i've ordering from Ken alot of times and really nice zoas and open few minutes after hours but never keep them more than a month since blue zoas are a hot item and great for swaps so thats what i did with my locar reefers ...

ohh also i dont like that software that much everythingsalty.com use Vbullitin and i like alot more this software DJ is using more simple and i like better the look but all depends on everyones preference what really like of vbulletin is the shout box appering on top of forum threads and that shows who is online at chat and this softwer doesnt do that so thats it i guess... but like my NANOTANK.COM as is really :D ...

ohh yeah but next time try to post here sounds we are more helpful :langle ... cause i know ill warned you for sure if i sow your thread...

when i introduced my 12 line wrasse, he ate the sexys, and killed the anemone crab i had.....they are constant hunters of anything small and weak. Some gobies that are bigger seem to be okay and hold their own, but baby gobies or anything small will croak.

My brother had more success, but even more so when the tank is bigger and the fish can establish a place in the tank where they can seek shelter in the event of an attack. You take that away from them, and they are open game!!

When I purchased my six line wrasse, I brought home the smallest specimen I have ever seen at a LFS or online...

When he made it to my 6 gallon, he hid for at least 1 month, I really never ever saw him.

He was always hunting pods and at that time I had plenty. With time I added one large sexy and he never bothered it nor other smaller shrimps that I added.

Maybe I had one only interested in pods...
