I set this tank up last month and thought I would share some pics

It is a 50 gallon Oceanic--30x18x24 or so

lights ore out in those pics

The stand that came with it is stainless so I made the canopy to match it

The lighting is a 250w M15000k XM

Here is a pic with the light on

The stand houses a 10 gallon sump
I am running a coralife super skimmer on it

The skimmer seems to be working out pretty good for the price

Thanks for looking

Wow. Nice tank MSIG. I don't think I've ever seen a stainless setup like that before. Looks really nice and clean.

We need a few more full tank pics...thanks for sharing. :D

That is an awsome tank. That stainless is going to be a PITA in the future! Very nice setup tho. So retro.

Very cool setup.

Kris,

Why do you think the stainless will be a PITA in the future? Does it not get along with saltwater? I thought it wasn't affected by salt.

As much as I love stainless myself, it stains. It says STAINLESS but it shows EVERYTHING. Dirt, fingerprints, watermarks, dust. EVERYTHING. Yes you can clean it, but its a PITA to keep up with. It turns that weird oily slick looking color if you touch it alot.

Not that he will be touching it.. but water drips and the like will be a pain on it.

YMMV tho.

Yes the stainless is a PITA to keep clean but I like the look of this stand and canopy

I just clean it on a regular basis and try not to rub my wet hands on it

I am very happy with this tank---the way it looks, the size of the tank, and the aquascaping

Thanks for all your compliments

A lot of this depends on the grade of stainless that you use

There are a lot of different grades and alloys and some are worse than others

a good quality food grade stainless will wear a lot better than a cheap stainless alloy
