Ok so I have been thinking about upgrading to a 30gal long but when I do I dont want to have all my equipment in my display so I have drawn up this plan to get some advice and help on plumbing and such since I know many of you have drilled tanks (and I personally have no experiacne with any of this) and I was thinking instead of having one return and having to have a PH on the other side of the tank I was thinking about 2 returns with lockline conectors on each and I was also thinking of putting this:

on the return line so the current would alternate between the returns. and I would be using a mag 5 for a return pump so would that be enough flow to acomplish this mission? as far as the over flow I want a internal over flow box either centered or off to one side if the return idea doesnt work. anyway here is a rough draft I drew up of the tank plans so let me know what you think about the whole thing thanks

If you do not want to have any powerheads in the tank, you would need something much larger than a Mag 5. The SCWD reduces your total GPH by about 15%-20%... dont listen to their website... it kills the flow. For a 46g, you are going to want somewhere around 1400gph or more, so how about going with like a mag 11 and a Nanostream 6025 in the tank? Those things are tiny and will add about 650 gph (gentle spread out stream) and should put you about where you want to be. Other option is a return pump and a CL.
