3rd Chamber??

This might be a dumb question ,but what is the 3rd chamber used for??

Is this Min /Max just a dumby proof thing so that the salinity does not shoot up and you know when to top off the tank.

Can I just not fill this chamber up with H2O??


I want to put a CPR HOB fuge and the nozzel with be going in there and I don;t want a water fall effect so to speak.

I have a BioCube 29 G . Chamber three is used as a top off or something.

I was wondering if I fill it up with water and than I can put the return from the CPR AquaFuge in to this chamber

I've done a similar setup with my tank but I removed my hang on skimmer/fuge because it would create micro bubbles that go back into the main tank. Because the water level is not consistent in the the 3rd chamber you may have micro bubbles returning into the main tank.

If you do go with the CPR AquaFuge idea, I would suggest installing an ATO so that the water level will stay at a high enough level to prevent microbubbles.
