Oooh.. an anemone tank! My specialty.

I love anemones. I would have done my cube an anemone only tank but things turned out differently. I have been contemplating setting up another tank, but I really don't want to spend any more money I don't have. Then again, I am a very indecisive person!

You two are brothers huh? No wonder those tanks looked almost like the same person made them. Weird.

So true...the two of them have quite a knack for 'scaping tanks and stocking them.

I guess I'm stuck with buying a 70W MH set up since I never got around to redoing my 2.5. I just bought another 2 pounds of rock to replace the hydroid and vermetid snail infested rock that's taking over my tank.

Hehe, Mike, wanna sell me that new MH pendant?

I moved this from our main home page...

Congratulations goes out to Mike Guerrero for winning the Tank of the Summer Contest! Mike's amazing tank won him an awesome Metal Halide setup courtesy of Icecap, Inc. Its hard to imagine that the tank is only one gallon. Its packed with life and Mike has done a great job with it.

Mike's One Gallon Pico

Mike gives us a short write-up of his tank below

Here is a snapshot of my pico:

The tank is only 1 gallon of catalina salt water; I do a 50 percent water change every Sunday. I would dose
with a kent marine starter kit if I missed a water change. Just a couple drops of Calcium, Strontium and
Iodine. I have 3 cups of live sand; courtesy of my two cubes. I have 1.5 pounds of cured live rock.
Several button polpys came in assorted colors. Three mushrooms; spotted green, orange and hairy. Baby
orange yuma, small colony of organ pipes, GSP. And two corals; torch and hammer, they are small frags. Two
mini gobies; redstriped and orange. Small branch of red macroalgae.

The pico is driven by Coralife mini 50/50 18 watts, run the light 6 hours a day in the evening after work
hours. Titanium 50 watt heater keeps the tank warm in the night. Filtered by Aquaclear 10 (mini), with 1/2
chemipure.

Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Ph 8.3
Specific gravity 1.025
Temp 81 F degrees

Sincerely,

Mike Guerrero

Mike,
I was checking out your tank again and I am still amazed, it looks great. I would like to ask you a couple of photo questions. What settings do you use to get such a clear full tank shot? Mine always come out looking crappy.... What light do you use? camera flash or room light? And last but not least, what type of camera do you use? From your pics, I would say we could all take a lesson from you.....

Thanks
