This is my first salt tank of any kind. I decided to go reef, much cooler than fish in my opinion. This reef is 1 and a half months old and is doing pretty good so far. This is the new tank after the 24 dx cracked, wich was supposed to be the 2006 model, Im still looking into it. Hope you like.

nice selection in your rocks, and the aquascaping is really neat! Looks real cool so far. Sorry to hear of your problems with the 24 dx cracking :(

Thanks. This company on ebay said it was 2006 model and they had excellent feedback, so I got it. The tank had a crack at about a month so I dought it is the 2006 model. I cant find out until monday. I will call jbj to see how to determine the difference.

nice tank and welcome to nanotank.com. i curious...what are the dimensions on this tank, it looks taller than a stadard 20g. Looks great and more mature than it really is. where is all your equipement...powerheads, heater, filter, etc etc? i like that they are concealed. what kind of lighting are you running?

Thanks fo looking. It is 20high, 16deep, 16wide. Im using the 10,000k 50/50 bulbs out of the jbj 24dx, until I get another idea, but for now seems to be ok. Almost 4 watts per gal. A maxi 1200 for flow, wich is 295 gph I believe. Ther are 3 chambers in the back, the first on the left is overflow, second is set up to be a refugium, but that is where I put my chemipure, and the last one on the right is for the pump and heater. Hope this answers some questions. All params at 0, ph 8.2, alk 4, calc 400. Sorry this could have been shorter if I knew the proper terms.

That lighting should be good for what you are keeping. however, if you ever decided to go with any light-loving corals like clams or sps, then you would want metal halide for sure due to the 20" high depth. pc's just dont penetrate as good as mh. is this tank arylic?

Yes this tank is acrylic. I will probably just put corals in this tank, that are ok under the current setup. I am only 1 month into my first tank, so I am going to take it slow, and maybe save the harder corals for a better setup, and some more experience. I really apreciate the advice.
