Looks good. Just be careful with your bioload for the first few months. You want to give your tank planty of time to fully cycle and stabilize. can you give a full tank shot?

thanks

Tanks looking great . I would rehome the starfish as a small tank does not offer enough food and they will eventually starve to death, he may also knock over rocks and corals  You also seem to be moving too fast has the tank had a chance to cycle ?

^^ agree... 2 weeks? you should have sand and rocks... 2 fish a shrimp and a starfish? i hope you arent attached to them or your money because there is a real possibility that they could die in the next few weeks. i made the cardinal mistake of putting a fish in after a week and it didnt make it to the one month mark, i also killed 3 shrimp in that time frame too...

not trying to put you down, but i learned the hard way and i dont want that to happen to you...

Keep up with your weekly water changes of 10% and you will prolly be fine.....

That is a bit of a heavy bio load for such a new tank. Be sure not to over feed the fish!

I can see it's going to be a very nice tank.

you guys are right, i`m running too fast my tank, i have to slow down.
The only reason why i put those fishes is because a have the ammonia=0, nitrite=0 and nitrate=5 and when i got my rocks, it was almost cure.
Anyway i already brougth the starfish back to the store, i just got it because the guy at the store told me that it was gonna be good for my tank.
Well thanks a lot guys and i hope to give you good news about it

once your tank is up and stable for a period if you still want a star fish you could always get some mini brittle stars the eat ditrus and leav the corals alone . They also readly reproduce
www.flordiapets.com
carries them that is where I got mine from hope this helps you

Things may look fine for now but you still need to give the system time to stabilize. Take a look at my signature line, I put it there because it is 100% true. Take your time and you will be rewarded with a minireef that you will be proud of. Rush things and things get expensive when they have to be replaced. JMO, SKip

Hi guys, as you see my tank is doing good.I`m giving time to cycle now.
The rocks are starting to get purple, the PH-8.0, Ammonia and Nitrites - 0, and Nitrates about 5.
I bougth a JBJ Nanocube Skimmer but i didn`t like, is not working well, it can`t be attached, when i turn of the pump to feed, the skimmers goes out.
Anyone can give me any tip abou it.
Thank you

I put a skimmer into my 12 g NCube a few months ago and it does a great job. Before that I was seeing a surface slick. I put it on the left side in front of the double sponge filter area. The water level is just above the bottom of the holes. It is tricky to keep the sump level up. I have to keep adding water.

I've had a star like yours in the tank since I got it 7 months ago. I inherited him from the former owner who had the star in it from first set up - maybe 6-9 mos before I got it in a swap. So - he may make it.

Skimpm,

I'm looking at moving up to a 24 g DX Nano Cube - 2005 models are on sale, but have no surface skimmer included as do the 2006 models. I was looking back to your comment on skimmers. Will the protein skimmer you mentioned also keep the surface slick down like the surface skimmer? I'm wondering if I'll need both in the new 24 g.

I've been carefully following other posts on moving sand/water to new tanks.

Thanks for your help.

You need a surface skimmer to get the surface scum/slick away from the display area and then a protien skimmer may be able to help get rid of it. Without a surface skimmer the slick will stay in the display area and the protien skimmer will remove other organics. IMO the surface skimmer is the more important of the two.

I also wouldn't buy a 2005 24DX, the glass used in their construction is thinner than the glass used in the '06 models and has a bad reputation of cracking after being set up. Do a search on ReefCentral and nano-reef and you'll find alot of bad press about the pre-'06 24s.

Thanks, Skip. I will research.

Does anyone else have experience with a 2005 24g Nano Cube - good or bad? I don't think the 2006 models are shipping yet.

looking great cristhian an also looking at your watchman in the back reminds me when mine was there and i hated that .... until (you should try it) i introduced a pistor shrimp more exactly a randall's pistol shirmp (candy or redbanded shrimp is known for 3 names) anyways so i introducced and stupid shrimp went in the back or the LR then 3 days later he made a cave in the LS infront of the tank and and like 2 days later or so my yellow watchman follow him and they look   so cute... and the shrimp is a great wife always cleaning the cave and taking the extra sand out of their sweet home  anyways im glad now cause they bouth are infront of the tank so i can see them more rather than the watchman being on the side and not see him that much... you should go for a pistol they are great to look at....

I have to agree that a watchman/pistol pair is quite an interesting pair to watch. I have a pair of hi-finned red banded gobies that will be paired with a randalls pistol shrimp when they get moved to their new home (possibly this weekend). Here is a link to the shrimp Eddy is talking about: http://www.marinedepotlive.com/randalls ... hrimp.html . Take note of their size, they are fairly small and quite well suited to nano life.
