2 Week Cycle?

I started the cycle on the 15th of January, but did not start testing until the 20th. Since that time my Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates have all steadily dropped off to zero. On the first reading it was this:

Ammonia - .25
Nitrite - 0.8
Nitrate - 10 ppm

5 days after that it was:

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0.1
Nitrate - 0

Two or three days ago I started getting the, sometimes typical I think, brown diatoms covering the LR and substrate. Is my cycle complete? It seems far too quick for me. What do you guys think?

I bought the standard bag of LS (20 lbs) (Arag-Alive, the wet kind) and some seemingly semi-cured (had a bit of die off and detritus) LR (20 lbs) from my LFS and put in my 06 24 gallon Nano-Cube DX.

What do you guys think?

Depending on how many water changes you did, the fact that you used live sand as opposed to dry sand, and the fact that your rock was semi-cured, it is possible for your cycle to be nearing the end. Remember though that this does not mean that you tank has the biological filtration to be stable yet. continue to take it slowly and patiently, and you'll be fine.

If you havent yet done so, add a cleanup crew. You may want to add a hardy coral or two even.

good luck and enjoy. also, welcome to nanotank...im sure that you'll love it here.

Reefman covered it pretty well but I would wait until the nitrites read 0 before adding anything. A feww days of 0 readings on ammonia and nitrites and then I would start slowly adding cleaners.
